THE IFBEV INFINITY 1/8 Electric Off-Road Buggy
The IFB8EV is the electric-powered evolution of the IFB8 buggy platform from INFINITY, developed for high-performance 1/8 scale off-road competition. Designed by the INFINITY racing team, the platform focuses on precise handling, durability, and ease of maintenance while delivering competitive performance on a wide range of track conditions.
Development of the IFB8 platform involved extensive testing on tracks around the world with the goal of producing a buggy that is both easy to drive and highly tunable. The chassis integrates advanced suspension geometry, precision drivetrain components, and innovative design features to maximize traction, stability, and cornering speed.
Double Wishbone Suspension (DWS)
The IFB8EV features a double wishbone front suspension system inspired by full-scale automotive engineering. This design allows independent wheel movement which improves stability, traction, and cornering performance. The system provides precise control of suspension geometry while minimizing the effect of one wheel’s movement on the other.
Chassis Suspension Mount (CSM)
The suspension mounts are directly connected to the chassis rather than the gearbox. This design improves drivetrain smoothness and simplifies maintenance. Composite eccentric bushings allow adjustment of front kick-up, rear anti-squat, and rear toe settings to suit different track conditions.
Wheel Hub Adjustment (WHA)
The Wheel Hub Adjustment system allows the height of the front wheel hub to be adjusted relative to the suspension structure. This enables quick tuning of steering characteristics while maintaining overall chassis balance.
Precision Bar Movement (PBM)
The stabilizer bars are mounted with precision ball bearings to ensure smooth and accurate operation. Multiple bar stiffness options allow drivers to fine-tune chassis roll characteristics for different track surfaces and grip levels.
Optimized Differentials
The differentials are designed for maximum traction and smooth operation. Slightly helical bevel gears reduce shock loads during acceleration and braking, while a reinforced bearing layout improves reliability and structural integrity.
High Performance Shock Absorbers
Hard-anodized shock bodies and 4mm shafts provide excellent durability and consistent damping performance. The shocks can be configured with either bladder or emulsion systems to match track conditions.
