RC MAKER SP2 1/10 EP Touring Car Kit

The RC MAKER SP2 is a competition-level 1/10 electric touring car developed from the successful SP1 platform. Following 18 months of development, the SP2 retains the core DNA of its predecessor while being comprehensively re-engineered to improve handling, durability, adjustability and ease of maintenance.

Chassis Options

The SP2 is available with three interchangeable chassis specifications. Select your preferred chassis style from the product options.

  • Carbon Chassis: 2.2mm carbon-fibre chassis weighing approximately 63g. Includes front and rear brass centre weights.
  • Aluminium Chassis: 1.5mm aluminium chassis weighing approximately 85g. Includes front and rear brass centre weights.
  • Steel Chassis: 1.2mm PVD-coated spring-steel chassis weighing approximately 137g. Centre weights are not included.

Each chassis uses the same 110-degree steel countersunk screws, allowing straightforward chassis changes without requiring a different screw set.

Suspension

  • XS shocks and springs reduce unsprung weight and improve handling response.
  • Coaxial shock and pushrod geometry provides smoother shock action, reduced play and a lower moment of inertia.
  • Optimised suspension kinematics improve traction and cornering response.
  • Shock bodies are fixed to the bulkheads to reduce friction and unsprung weight.
  • Rigid upstop adjustment using a grub screw or screw-and-shim arrangement.
  • Suspension arms are 3mm longer with mounting points positioned 6mm closer for improved corner speed.
  • Minimal components mounted to the suspension arms help reduce unsprung weight.
  • Delrin components and polished steel ball studs minimise friction and wear.
  • Adjustable rocker height using a slider system allows quick and precise fine-tuning.
  • Steel pushrod components replace conventional ball cups to reduce wear, weight and friction.
  • Pinned upper shock mounts provide smoother shock action with reduced play.

Sway Bars

  • Ultra-lightweight design with adjustment accessible from above.
  • Ball-raced construction allows easy installation and removal.
  • Positioned for the lowest possible centre of gravity.
  • Minimal component count.
  • Compatible with 1.0mm to 1.3mm sway bars.
  • Front and rear sway-bar components are fully interchangeable.

Hubs

  • Lowered axle height provides a wider tuning range.
  • Direct mounting provisions for analogue and digital caster tools.
  • Oversized 6 x 11 x 4mm inner bearings improve durability and reduce play.
  • Matched polished balls across the hubs and inner arms maximise component compatibility.
  • Optimised scrub radius provides a more aggressive steering response.
  • Hard-coated wheel hexes minimise play and wear.
  • Integrated mounting option for aero discs.

Steering and ARS

  • Lengthened rear toe links provide more linear rear toe gain.
  • 8.0mm steering rack with optional steering-lock stoppers.
  • Consistent ball studs throughout simplify compatibility and spare-parts management.
  • Low-CG one-piece servo mount with enlarged locating pins for precise and durable alignment.

Bulkheads

  • Top-deck mounting is raised by 4mm for more rigid and progressive chassis flex.
  • Raised differential and spool positions improve corner speed and driveability.
  • Front-left/rear-right and front-right/rear-left bulkhead compatibility reduces the number of spare parts required.
  • Laser-etched belt-tension positions provide clear and repeatable adjustment.
  • Increased suspension-arm clearance enables higher roll-centre settings.
  • Precision locating pins provide repeatable alignment.

Motor Mount and Top Deck

  • Raised motor mount with revised mounting positions and equal-length top decks for centralised chassis flex.
  • The motor is raised by 0.5mm, allowing additional chassis material beneath the motor pocket for improved flex and durability.
  • Screw-in steel layshaft improves tolerance and durability.
  • Larger locating pins provide durable and repeatable alignment.
  • Integrated pinion-tightening access hole located underneath the chassis.
  • Adjustable front and rear belt tensioners are included.
  • Compatible with an optional centre belt tensioner for Modified-class racing.
  • Generous pinion clearance and motor adjustment range accommodate low final-drive ratios.
  • Cuttable top-deck tabs allow fine-tuning of chassis flex characteristics.

Drivetrain

  • Threaded aluminium differential halves provide clearance for the longer suspension arms.
  • Optimised differential gear spacing improves durability under demanding conditions.
  • Larger driveshaft bearings and a coupler-free design reduce friction and wear.
  • Lightweight hardened outdrives and driveshaft components minimise rolling resistance and wear.
  • Larger centre-pulley bearings improve rigidity under high loads.
  • Improved ball-bearing durability and smoothness throughout the drivetrain.

Bumper and Body Mounts

  • Low-CG front bumper assembly improves handling balance.
  • Bumper stoppers are integrated into the front bulkhead for easy bumper removal and uninterrupted chassis flex.
  • Carbon bumper mount includes an integrated pocket for the INOV8 Adjustable Hood Support.
  • Split-style rear body mount reduces moment of inertia and allows adjustment of bulkhead flex.
  • Moulded rear body-post spacer reduces weight over the rear of the chassis.

Chassis Design

  • Minimised chassis footprint reduces scrubbing during cornering, acceleration and braking.
  • Three interchangeable chassis materials provide additional tuning options across different track surfaces.
  • All chassis variants use the same 110-degree steel countersunk screws.

Hardware

  • High-quality nickel-plated YFS screws are used throughout the top of the car for durability and corrosion resistance.
  • High-quality 110-degree countersunk steel chassis screws feature durable 2mm hex drives.

Included Equipment

  • Differential tools.
  • 1.1mm sway bars.
  • Two 4.5-coil springs.
  • Two 4.25-coil springs.
  • Front and rear brass centre weights with the carbon and aluminium kits only.

Please note: This is an unassembled competition-level RC car kit. Body, wheels, tyres, motor, ESC, servo, radio equipment, battery, charger and other completion equipment are required unless otherwise stated.
